The Hub for Creativity and Innovation in Manchester
Manchester has always welcomed the Royal Family in more than many ways, such as lighting Manchester’s beacon in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday this year. It was also a pleasant surprise for the couple to receive the Queen attending their wedding in Manchester. With a place so close to the Queen’s heart, it is no wonder that Manchester is thriving so well.
By being an ambitious city, Manchester has invested billions to create an exciting and modern environment that will bring forward innovative industries and businesses. One of these include NOMA, also known as Northern Manchester. This 20 acre mixed use city regeneration scheme is in collaboration between Co-op and Hermes. The development is aimed at creating opportunities within office, residential, retail and leisure spaces. The heart of the project is the £100 million One Angel Building, a distinctive shape similar to a sliced egg.
Other than NOMA, billions of pounds are also invested in other areas of Manchester, such as MAG, a vision to transform the airport and surrounding area for a rapid expansion of business, aviation, science and biotechnology industries. Investment to the National Graphene Institute is to expand the research for graphene uses, drawing specialists from around the world to take part in this institution. Media City is aimed to become the hub for digital and media creativity.
